Luther
Longley
Vandalia, Ohio
After
being a commercial artist for 53 years, Luther spent most
of his time painting a wide variety of subject matter
such as landscapes, seascapes, birds, waterfowl, wild
and domestic animals. He also enjoyed painting golf courses
because they offer some of the most beautiful landscapes.
He primarily worked in watercolor, acrylic and pastel.
His painting of "Cy's Back Porch" was accepted
in the American Watercolor Society's Exhibition in New
York and received the Distinguished Painting Award int
he mInstreams Exhibition at Marietta College in Ohio.
His paintin of "Cy's Sideporch"

was
in the prestigious Butler Institute of American Art Exhibition.
He was commissioned by the Mead Corporation to paint four
watercolors of four different areas of the United States
for their stationery line. Luther was a frequent eshibitor
and award winner in the Ohio Watercolor Society's annual
exhibitions. He was a charter member of the Ohio Watercolor
Society and sustaining member of the American Watercolor
Society. |
