Fred
Leach
Avon, Ohio
Fred
Leach served in 1978 as a founding member of OWS and served
as a juror on the first OWS Jury of Selection and Awards
under the chairmanship of Marc Moon. Fred's training began
at the Butler Institute of American Art followed by a
scholarship to the cleveland Institutel of Art. Fred was
a life member and Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor
Society, winning many AWS and OWS awards, including the
AWS Bronze and High Winds Medals and the OWS Silver Medal.
He worked as a Master Designer at the American Greetings
Company and After retirement taught classes that often
were filled to the brim. His work was exhibited with

a
select group of AWS members in the Mexico Olympic Games
fo 1968. He was elected to Watercolor USA Honor Society
in 1985 where his work was chosen for the Watercolor USA
Permanent Collection in Springfield, Missouri. Other collections
include the Butle Institute, the OWS Permanent Collection,
Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Frye Museum in Seattle.
He was a popular exhibitor in 20 Boston Mills Outdoor
Festivals and was recognized as an eshibiting artist for
15 OWS competitions. He is listed in the Who's Who in
America and Who's Who in the Midwest. |
